The Unaccompanied Minors are the University of Waterloo’s premier mixed-voice, auditioned a cappella ensemble founded in 2009.

The Minors consist of 16 to 24 musically talented students who are extremely passionate about delivering powerful, high-energy performances that span genres from top 40 hits, to indie, to R&B. Focusing on blend, musicality, and performance, they have been spreading the aca-love wherever they go.

From the Kitchener-Waterloo Area at campus events like TEDxUW, to the United States to compete at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), they have blown away audiences with their incredible arrangements and powerful performances.

In 2020, the Unaccompanied Minors placed 2nd at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Central Quarterfinals! Our members have also won awards for Outstanding Soloist and Outstanding Arrangement.

The Unaccompanied Minors are holding auditions for all voice parts for the Winter 2021 term. They are auditioning for fewer spots this term as the group is already partially filled with members from the Fall. They will also be competing in the ICCA this term!
